The Ergorest Multi-tripod
by Bill
Once in a while I run across an innovative and useful tool for doing photography. The Ergorest Multi-tripod has multiple uses and I have gotten some really great photographs using it.
| When I was planning my safari to Tanzania, I knew I would be shooting most of the time out of a vehicle and I wanted a good camera support for my 100-400mm lens especially when I added a 1.4x adapter. I knew that shooting at 560mm would mean that any movement at all would destroy getting that photo I wanted so much because of camera shake. So, I set about doing reserach to find a good quality support system for my purpose. I also wanted a device that was reasonably priced and made of strong and durable materials. I was not disappointed when the Multi-tripod arrived. | ![]() |
Made of high quality materials, it was an engineering marvel, considering the multiple things it can do.
In Florida, I have used it many many times to photograph birds, in Africa I used it to photograph dozens of different species, and in Scotland, I have used it to do landscape photography.

One shot that I especially am pleased with, is this one of a Steenbok photographed in South Africa with the 100-400mm lens and a 1.4x. Talk about sharp! I could not have gotten this shot without the Ergorest Multi-tripod. The steenbok was more than 200 feet from my location. |
I have done landscape shots with the device in Scotland. It is exceedingly useful for doing landscapes because it keeps the camera low, thereby finding a good perspective for showing foreground areas. One of my treasured photos is shown below, lots of rocks at Elgol.

The mult-tripod can be bought for $89.95, and trust me it's worth every penny.
