A shower cap. Yes, a shower cap. Not to wear when it rains but to put over you camera when it is attached to a tripod or hanging round your neck. Essential for that sudden cloud burst or whilst waiting for "that" shot when the surf is up and the dreaded spray is playing havoc with your filters.

Yes, you can use a plastic bag but they flap around and blow away. You can buy expensive custom made covers but why bother. A shower cap is cheap and often free from hotels but mine is of a more durable variety.

The secret in its success is the elastic. Slip it over your lens or lens and camera and it stays there.

A large one will also fit over your camera when your filter system is attached.

Mine is a fetching lilac colour.
